Oklahoma to add an adviser 529 plan

Oklahoma Treasurer Scott Meacham has announced that a new 529 savings program called Oklahoma Dream 529 will be available for sale through financial advisers. The state will continue offering its direct-sold 529 savings plan, currently managed by TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing Inc.

The new plan will by administered and distributed through a joint effort with TIAA-CREF and Allianz Global Investors Distributors LLC. Investment options will include offerings utilizing NFJ, Thornburg, PIMCO and six other investment managers.

Financial services firms are being contacted with the offer to participate in making the new plan available to their clients.
