GAO issues report detailing complexity of higher education incentives

The GAO has issued its report to the Senate Finance Committee called "Student Aid and Postsecondary Tax Preferences." The report explains the various Title IV student aid programs and the tax incentives for higher education, details their complexity and inconsistency, and recommends further research into the effectiveness of these federal programs.
