Missouri Senate passes bill to create new savings program - UPDATE
UPDATE May 21, 2004 - The bill, substituted as HB 959, has passed the House and been delivered to the Governor for expected signing.
Missouri SB 1038 was passed on March 1, 2004, authorizing the creation of the Missouri Higher Education Deposit Program. The bill now moves on to the House. The program would provide tax-free savings in certificates of deposit, with up to $8,000 in annual contributions deductible against Missouri taxable income.
