Illinois reminds residents to enroll in the College Illinois! Prepaid 529 Plan by January 1st Before Prices Increase
Open enrollment for Illinois's prepaid plan runs November 2, 2015 through May 31, 2016, but residents are encouraged to enroll before year-end to take advantage of last year's prices. The plan offers federal and state tax advantages, including a state income tax deduction for contributions. The funds are managed by an experienced third-party and are held in a trust fund at Northern Trust Company, separated from state funds.
