2Q 2015 529 Plan assets reach $234.7 billion
In its 2Q15 Savings Plan Data Quarterly Highlights, Strategic Insight reports that total 529 savings plan assets reached $234.7 billion in 2Q15. This is a 1.2% increase over over the first quarter of 2015, and a 6.4% increase over 2Q 2014.
Net inflows in the 1st quarter of 2015 were $3.4 billion, compared to $3.0 billion in Q2 of 2014, demonstrating that investors are successfully withdrawing 529 plan funds for qualified higher education expenses.
