Independent 529 Plan changing its pricing

The Independent 529 Plan will no longer be offering a discount from current tuition prices when it re-opens in mid-August under new program manager OFI Private Investments Inc., (OFIPI), a subsidiary of OppenheimerFunds, Inc. The plan temporarily stopped accepting new contributions on July 1, 2010 to make the transition from former program manager TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing.

Previously, I529 provided an additional benefit to participants by requiring participating colleges to accept a discount off current tuition prices. This feature is eliminated going forward.
