Michigan to unveil broker 529 plan from TIAA-CREF, Allianz

The Michigan Department of Treasury plans to launch a new 529 savings plan sold through financial advisers. The MI 529 Advisor Plan will be managed by TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing Inc. in partnership with Allianz Global Investors. Those firms also teamed up earlier this year with the adviser-sold Oklahoma Dream 529 Plan.

The launch of the new Michigan plan is scheduled for November 2009.
