Sallie Mae survey shows parents of younger children saving more
According to the recent report "How America Saves For College" released by Sallie Mae and Gallup, the overall 529 usage rate for savers was 33 percent based on a survey of over 1,200 parents of children under 18. However, parents with children under age seven are twice as likely to turn to 529 plans (43%) as parents of teens (20%).
