Wisconsin EdVest adds bank CDs and a conservative option

(October 2, 2008) - Wisconsin's EdVest College Savings Plan has added a Bank CD Portfolio and a Credit Union CD Portfolio as fixed options. Each portfolio invests in brokered certificates of deposit (CDs) issued by Wisconsin-based banks or credit unions that are insure by the FDIC or NCUA. The program has also added the Wells Fargo Conservative Portfolio as both a fixed allocation option and as a portfolio in the enrollment-based options.

Further changes include the renaming of the Wells Fargo Ultra-Conservative Portfolio to the Wells Fargo Money Market Portfolio, an increase in the maximum contribution limit from $246,000 to $330,000, and the closure of the Wisconsin Select Portfolio to new contributions.
