Jake LaTurner was sworn in as the 40th Kansas State Treasurer onApril 26th, 2017. As the youngest Statewide Official in theUnited States, Jake brings a fresh approach and customer servicemindset to the office.

With Jake’s leadership, the Treasurer’s Office has returned over$20 million in Unclaimed Property to Kansans at a record rate.Additionally, the state has seen a 29% increase in new Learning Quest 529 Education Savings Accounts, with $6billion in total assets. Jake has overseen the issuance of almost$3 billion in bonds for road construction and municipaldevelopment projects.

Before becoming Treasurer, Jake was twice elected by the peopleof Southeast Kansas to serve in the Kansas Senate. He chaired theFederal and State Affairs Committee and was a member of theFinancial Institutions and Insurance Committee, as well as theTransportation Committee.

Jake and his wife, Suzanne, have four children: Ava, Joe, Maggieand Gus.
