Survey shows parents hope to send children to college of choice

In a survey conducted for John Hancock by Synovate, 92.6 percent of parents said it was important to be able to pay for whatever college their child wanted to attend.

But at the same time, 43.5 percent said they were counting on others to help with the financing of their child's education.

The findings of the survey supported the notion that financial gifts for college education are popular and necessary among parents and grandparents.
