College Board report continuing increase in college costs

The College Board's annual report on college costs shows tuition and fees continuing to increase at a pace more than twice the rate of inflation. Average total tuition and fees for the 2005/2006 school year at four-year public universities is $5,491, or 7.1% higher than the prior year. Tuition and fees at two-year public colleges is $2,191, or 5.4% higher than last year, while at private colleges it is $21,235, or 5.9% higher. Average room and board saw slightly lower increases.
