Mississippi issues RFP for 529 program manager

The Mississippi Treasury Department has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) inviting bids from firms interesting in managing the state's direct-sold and advisor-sold 529 savings programs known as MACS.

TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing Inc. is currently the program manager for MACS under a contract that expires March 20, 2011. The contract will be extended if necessary for transition to a new program manager. There is approximately $112 million in the direct-sold plan and $11 million in the advisor-sold plan.

Proposals are due by February 15, 2011.
