Nebraska chooses First National to replace Union Bank as 529 manager

Nebraska Treasurer Shane Osborn has announced the selection of First National Bank of Omaha as manager of the College Savings Plan of Nebraska starting in 2011. The new manager replaces Union Bank & Trust Company of Lincoln, which has managed the plan since inception in 2001 under a contract expiring on December 31, 2010.

Plan administrative services will be outsourced to Upromise Investments, Inc. and the Upromise rewards service will become available through the plan.

The College Savings Plan of Nebraska has over $1 billion in assets.
