H.R. 467 - STEM Opportunity Act of 2015

The purpose of this bill is to promote research on and increase understanding of the participation and trajectories of women and unrepresented minorities in STEM careers at institutions of higher learning and Federal science agencies. It aims to reduce cultural and institutional barriers limiting the recruitment, retention and success of women in academic and Government STEM research careers. The bill also calls for grants to increase the number of STEM faculty members from underrepresented minority groups in institutions of higher educations.
