Oregon pushes idea for using 529s to pay back student loans
(February 3, 2009) - According to this article in The Register-Guard (Ore.), U.S. Senate Finance Committee member Ron Wyden along with Rep. Sara Gelser are on board to push for a change in federal laws to allow 529 funds to be withdrawn tax-free when used to pay down student loans.
