College Funding: Grandparents willing, parents not asking
(September 13, 2008) - In a recent survey by Praxis Research Partners for The Hartford, nearly two-thirds of grandparents said they plan to contribute financially to their grandchildren's college education, with over half the willing grandparents planning to contribute more than $10,000 and a quarter of them planning to contribute over $30,000.
In spite of this willingness, a College Savings Foundation survey of parents yet to be released will show that only 22 percent of parents expect grandparents to help with their children's education.
