Upromise college preparedness survey find parents misinformed

The Upromise College Preparedness Report Card finds that most parents overestimate the cost of college by a wide margin. Yet, going to college is a normal expectation of parents who see the benefits as being worth the cost.

However, many parents are not aware of or do not utilize the various financing options available to them. Nearly one-third of parents report they are not using any financing option and four in ten say they have less than $5,000 saved for their child's college education.
