Fees drop in Kansas 529 programs
(May 16, 2007) - Program manager fees have been sliced nearly in half, from 0.39% to 0.20%, in all three of Kansas' 529 savings programs including the direct-sold Learning Quest 529 Education Savings Program, the adviser-sold Learning Quest Advisor program, and the Schwab 529 College Savings Plan.
The fee change was proposed by American Century as part of its 2006 bid to retain program manager status. Other improvements include the addition of Vanguard index funds into the direct-sold Learning Quest that also features American Century funds, and the move to a multi-manager investment approach in Learning Quest Advisor. The maximum contribution limit has moved to $290,000.
