Survey shows grandparents setting up college funds
(June 16, 2006) - The MetLife Grandparents Poll found that 21 percent of grandparents with grandchildren age 21 and under were setting aside funds for college education. Another 34 percent were contributing to their grandchildren's education in some other way. When asked how much they anticipated contributing annually toward education expenses for their grandchildren, 15 percent said they would contribute over $5,000 annually.
