Kansas Governor approves 529 deduction for out-of-state 529 plans
(May 23, 2006) - Kansas' governor has signed SB 432, making the Kansas income tax deduction for 529 contributions available to Kansas residents using non-Kansas 529 plans. The expanded deduction becomes effective for the 2007 tax year. Kansas becomes the second state to enact 529 state tax "parity."
