Wisconsin allows certain 529 non-owners to deduct contributions
(July 20, 2011) - Wisconsin has enacted legislation making non-owners of certain Wisconsin 529 accounts eligible to deduct their contributions to those accounts in computing Wisconsin taxable income. The non-owner must be related to the account beneficiary in the same way an account owner must be related in order to be eligible for the deduction, i.e. the donor must be the parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, aunt, or uncle of the beneficiary.
