North Carolina 529 adds federally-insured option
North Carolina's National College Savings Program has added a new investment option: the Federally-Insured Deposit Account through the State Employees' Credit Union. This NCUA-insured account is guaranteed not to lose principal or earned interest. The initial interest crediting rate is 2.50% (APY 2.53%) less the program adminstration fee of 0.25%.
