529 assets increase in 2009 Q2
(August 18, 2009) - Financial Research Corp. (FRC) reports that total assets in all 529 savings plans stood at $98.6B as of June 30, 2009, reflecting a 14.7% increase from March 31, 2009 assets of $89.5B. Compared to one year earlier, assets at June 30 were down 11%.
Virginia's CollegeAmerica 529 plan, managed by American Funds, was the largest program with $21.1B. In second place was New York's College Savings Program - Direct with $6.6B.
