What is a twitter party: A twitter party is typically a fun one hour virtual party, using the twitter platform. A twitter party is wonderful way for people to connect and discuss a topic of choice. Most twitter parties have an expert panelist and party host to keep the party on topic. Our party will be about 529 Plans, to celebrate 529 Day in style, but no need to get dressed up!

  1. How does a twitter party work: Twitter users tweet with a specified Hashtag (#) for the party. Our hashtag will be #529Day. Users use their tweet chat client to search for the hashtag and join in the conversation. You can follow from home, your office, your mobile phone or tablet! Tweetchat and Tweetgrid (click on party) make following a twitter party much easier and are two options available to you.
  2. What are the benefits of attending a twitter party: Twitter parties are a great way to connect with people on specific topics using the power of social media. Our topic is 529 Plans!
  3. Who should attend: Anyone with questions on 529 plans - especially mothers, fathers, and grandparents.
  4. What are the steps required to join the party:
    • Create a twitter account, should not take more than a minute.
    • Read the 529 Day twitter party rules.

    • Tweet for prizes - On 5/29, make sure to tweet using our hashtag #529Day. You can answer the Host's questions, or chirp in with your own thoughts or questions on 529 Plans. Only those who have RSVP'd AND tweet during the party will be eligible to receive prizes.

    • Open a 529 Plan for your prize to be deposit in if you dont already have one.
